Ryan St. Anne was born Randall Dean Stocks on May 21, 1953. In 1971, while in high school, Ryan claims he was "tricked into getting drunk by his friends at a school dance" and then later that same night "tricked into having sex" with a girl at the dance. The girl became pregnant. He stated that the girl threatened to have an abortion (even though abortion was not legal or readily accessible, especially to a minor, until January 22, 1973). He states the Catholic Church told him to marry the mother of this child, divorce her, get custody of the child and then place the child up for adoption so that he could become a priest in the Catholic Church. On August 28, 1971 he married Penelope Margaret Klotzbach in Illinois in a ceremony performed by a METHODIST minister. They moved to Arizona and remained married until March 18, 1975. (See marriage and divorce documents on the link to documents at top of this page.) Their son was born in January of 1972 and sometime thereafter given up for adoption.

When Ryan was 23 years old, a Certificate of Baptism wherein he made a "profession of faith" was received into the Catholic Church. This certificate was issued at Saint Joseph Church in Apple River, Illinois on January 25, 1976.

Ryan claims he was raped by priests in the Wisconsin area sometime during the late 1970's or 1980's, but this has never been proven as he has failed to provide proof of the incident. Furthermore, he has never provided credible proof of his ordination. Whenever he is asked to provide ordination papers, his consistent response is "I'm getting the paperwork in order" or "anyone who wants proof can contact Rome".

Throughout the course of Ryan's escapades, he always portrays himself as an innocent "victim" including; the birth of his child out of wedlock and the supposed rape. (He conveniently began talking of his "rape" at the same time many others in the Catholic Church were coming forward about their experiences and his timing of this rape was the same as other victims.) He also blames a leader of the Catholic Church for his incarceration due to a parole violation for a felony check forgery in Edgerton, Wisconsin in 1994. http://wcca.wicourts.gov/index.xsl , case # 1993CF001238. (Also see case #1996CV000126.) Any proof of the rape he claims he was victim to and his ordination can only be backed up by deceased/murdered priests or non-existent religious establishments.

Prior to reestablishing his cult in Galesburg, Ryan was the "priest" for the Shrine of Our Lady of the Prairies in Powers Lake, North Dakota, a well-established, long standing "traditional Catholic Shrine". Not long after his arrival in North Dakota, Ryan attempted to take over the Shrine and turn it into his new "abbey". Upon discovery of Ryan's true motives and misuse of funds, the Board of Directors fired him. Ryan conveniently went to the Attorney General in a pre-emptive move to cover his tracks. (An ongoing investigation of all allegations is currently underway.) Unfortunately, Ryan was the administrator of the Shrine's web-site and he continued to intercept email intended for the Shrine, even after he was evicted from the property and residing in Galesburg. He told people the Shrine was closed, (which to date is still open); no doubt soliciting funds that well-meaning Catholics originally intended to send to the Shrine. He also took the Shrine's mailing list of followers and financial contributors and redirected these people to his new location in Galesburg, Illinois.
