This original writing by Father Nelson of Our Lady of the Prairies, upon his passing, was republished in the Nov.-Dec. 1988 edition of “THE MARYFAITHFUL”, an original publication from this Shrine in North Dakota . Please read the article immediately below, paying special attention to the segment about “St. Nicolas”.  Notice in the second article, specifically in paragraph #10, Ryan has reproduced and modified the same experience to suit his needs, carefully omitting the name of the Seminary (presumably for verification purposes).
This “testimonial” appeared in Ryan’s December 2005 issue of “The Abbey Report” and on his November/ December 2005 web-page under “The Abbot’s Quill”.  Please notice the similarity between both publications. During his tenure at the Shrine of Our Lady of the Prairies, Ryan took over production of “THE MARYFAITHFUL”, (featured above) prior to his termination. Upon his termination and relocation to his new Abbey in Galesburg, Illinois, Ryan took the publication and its mailing list of financial contributors with him. He renamed the periodical as his own “The Abbey Report” and continues to send it to many unsuspecting readers and potential financial contributors.  If Ryan had truly received his training in a seminary, why would he steal another ordained priest’s experience and present it as his own?
